One of my good friends has a lot of family there, and she has given me the bug to go there someday, after I've learned enough French that I don't embarrass myself. :)

I have sort of an odd list of places that I want to go, in no particular order. I want to see Norway and Sweden, and the Netherlands, because that's where a lot of my family is from -- and I'd love to see the fjords in Norway, because I like dramatic geography. I want to go to Peru, somewhere around Macchu Pichu, because it looks so beautiful; and to Chile, because Pablo Neruda is my favorite poet. I want to see Edinburgh, because I've heard it's a wonderful city, and traipse across the rugged parts of Scotland. I'm not too big on cities in general, but I do like places with a lot of character. Basically, any place with a remarkable geography or a particularly interesting history. (So pretty much everywhere.)

I hope the New Year has been treating you well. :) I've been sick with a nasty cold for the past week, but I'm pretty much recovered now. My sister-in-law is coming to town for the weekend (while my brother goes to a conference on the other side of the country), so I'll need all my energy for a girls' weekend!Besshttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14312450476913521004noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753961.post-40512535221257884232008-01-09T12:36:00.000-05:002008-01-09T12:36:00.000-05:00How exciting for you! And it's great that you will share your husbands joy at seeing his children. Everybody has their own Paris and I'm sure it will weave its magic for you. If you wander on the left bank near le Pont Royale - give it my love.Pathttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01529798893653033970noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-7753961.post-32519098511255977972008-01-08T02:32:00.000-05:002008-01-08T02:32:00.000-05:00How funny! I just happened to read your blog and you're off to Paris - when we are! *heehee* We're off to Europe for 3 weeks, leaving here on April 17th, visiting my sister, Kimbofo in London then over to mainland Europe for 2 weeks! You never know, I just might bump into you at some stage!! SPending 3 nights in Paris but during the 2 full days we are there we're going to go to Euro Disneyland and hopefully Monet's Garden in Giverny. I have been wanting to visit Monet's Garden for about 20 years so this is a life long goal of mine that hopefully I will achieve in under 4 months time!

Have a wonderful trip away.
