5TH CLASS & A CPL ORIGINALS

So I finished the 5th and last class for this series. I really enjoyed them all. Some techniques, I could take or leave but you never know when something your learned will come in handy. I have signed up for the Intermediate 5 class series in May. It depends on demand so I hope they schedule a weekend slot so I can go.

Of the 5 classes, this necklace is my least favorite. The technique is usefull however. How to integrate 2 or more stands to a necklace etc...My choice of beads was overkill lol, I have such a hard time choosing colours being colour blind that when I find something that works, I just go with it...plus not having alot of time before class, makes me rush, so this necklace turned out too bulky/big for my taste. No worries because I can take it apart and use the beads for something different...the focal point on this one is really pretty though, I will definately do something with everything on this necklace, just not together lol.

I have had some fun coming up with a cpl original designs of my own. Just fooling around. I made 2 of the one below....

First orginal

I gave one to my cousin for her bday..she loved it...and kept one for myself and got many comments..and my daughter wants me to make her one like it, but with a shorter chain...

My first orginal necklace.

Finally, my last experiment. I had fun fooling around. If I can make something non cemetrical, I will lol.....I wore is out and got nice comments on it...I think you will either like it or hate it lol....

2nd original

Closer view of 2nd original necklace.

So that's it for jewelry so far...I have been having fun, shopping for beads online...have to be carefull to not go overboard lol.

We are still working downstairs, getting stuff organized...so to start decoration..as soon as we get our income taxes, I can order the new bedding sets I like for my bedroom and the other former sewing room that will become a bedroom. I have taken all the before pics!! I can't wait to take the AFTER!...This weekend I am in search of an old door..something with character if possible. We are going to check out a huge flee market..if we dont find one, I will just buy one from the hardwear store or $50..like the ones u can use in the house , that arent just flat...WHY?... well, I don't have a headboard or nice bedroom set, so I will paint a door and screw it to the wall behind my bed. To work as a headboard. I have some ugly bedside tables I am using now..that I plan on painting the same colour, probably black...Recycling and reusing lol...hopefully the total effect will look nice.

Happy EAster for those who celebrate ...Happy long weekend for those who don't lol.

I like that new necklace, Moon. I think to carry it off well, it would look best on a tall woman.

Happy Easter to you, too!

I love that idea of using the foor for a headboard! Did you see that done somwhere or come up with it on your own? You are obviously very creative.

Star, I wish I could take credit for the door/headboard idea, I saw it many years ago in a magazine and never forgot it..then my sister actually did it herself a cpl yrs ago...looks great..and to even go a step farther...u could mount small light sconces on each end...but on the back of the door, u can routor out a trail all the way down, from point of screw on back side...so that your cord fits in routor trail, in order to still be able to fix the door flush against the wall....I won't do that myself because I have some small lamps in mind, but its always a future option if I want to change lol.

Moon, I definitely think you have found your calling. Your designs are unusual and beautiful. Do you know how much you need to charge for them to make up for your material and time and still earn a profit?

Thank you for wishing Ron well after his accident. He is doing great.

Moon, you have a wonderful creative flair for your necklaces! I like them all, but I have to admit, I think the first one is very classic, and I love the drop bead with the colours you have chosen.
I am addicted to HGTV they have great ideas such as your headboard plan. Too bad you don't live closer to Toronto, there is a store near where I live that has old home fixtures such as antique doors. I'm positive you would find your perfect door!

I would so go overboard with the beads, I know I would, Lol! It's great that you have found this creative outlet. Your necklaces look lovely and the second one here is my favourite. Like you, I love asymmetrical things :)

When you show the first one on a different background - not the pink - it looks sensational. What a difference. I'd be proud to have made any of them.

You are so creative! The door/headboard sounds awesome. I've seen some cool headboards made of various items: a weathered old gate, a window frame with several small windows (replaced with little mirrors) and a beautiful antique quilt wrapped tightly around a big piece of paneling, and stuffed with batting so it looked like the back of a sofa. I love a unique decorating touch.

Your jewelry is lovely. I especially like the top one.
