WHERE DO PPL GET THEIR MONEY?

Seriously...how can ppl afford to have lavish weddings? Ok, there are still traditional weddings where the parents pay for everything. Even then...I would want to die before costing my parents that much money for one day. Yes its a special day but lets be logical. I can think of a million other more pratical things to use that kind of money for.

I realize it probably has everything to do with my age but at the same time..I could be using just that fact to justify having an expensive wedding...You know the whole, I'm finally getting married at the ripe age of 43 so I better make it count argument lol.

I am so not like that. But I do like good value for my money. I also like classy and understated but those come with a price.

I am thankfully having a small intimate group of ppl for my wedding supper. Less then 40. But even with that amount of ppl...many places ask for a minimum of 50 ppl..then there is the damn menu choices!! 80$ per person is rediculous...OK, so I have never organized a wedding or big supper before but give me a break..Oh and some places charge MORE for every person BECAUSE there is UNDER 50 !!..ARG!! I realize they want it to be worth their trouble but PULEASE.. it's not like the prices aren't already inflated.

Ok, this was the first installment of Wedding Venting lol. Bare with me...and rest assured that I can't wait to be married to my man. I will certainly have more things to bitch about but there will hopefully be more to rejoice about aswell.

ON THE STRIKE OF MIDNIGHT LASTNIGHT!

Here it is , my BIRTHDAY BLOG and boy what a DOOZY! OH and yeah, I was told I HAD to put a bday pic of me up so there it is. Taken just before we went out------->

We went for a walk in a huge mall we like instead of doing the groceries like we always do...it was my bday afterall, it could wait. Didn't buy anything, just strolled..no hurry, just fun.

We then went to one of our favorite resturants, Le Baton Rouge, they have the best ribs in the Galaxy. Then had enough room for a yummy dessert.

We finally decided that we could go to a movie anytime so to make a night of it we opted to go to the Montreal Casino...It's really a beautiful place. Chris had never been and the last time I had gone was 3 or 4 yrs ago with my sister. The Casino was actually built as the France Pavilion for EXPO 67...then later turned into the Montreal Casino...as u can see by the pics, it really is an impressive building.

Pretty cool eh. The parking is underneath and inside the Casino, there is 5 levels (floors) that are all open..The escalators going up seem like they are floating in the middle of it all, so u can see all the levels up or down. It also has a clear floor with water underneath that flows to a waterfall and pond in the middle of the Casino. It's pretty impressive. They plan on building a new Casino in Montreal but I sure hope they keep this one open aswell. Would be a pity to lose this unless they use the building for something else we would want to visit.

SO...we got there around 7pm and get started with $100...(our limit) no need to blow a bunh of money lol....., 50 each to play on the machines. We try a cpl machines and have fun because they keep giving us tokens that make our money last..then I hit a win that meant that it was more then the machine gives out...ended up being $375.00!!! Had to sign for it...we were like WOW...this is great AND we had even more money to play with. I put 2x 100 bills in my bra lol and the rest in 20's to play with ...WHOO HOOO.

Went on to try out other machines then sat down at one with a Cleopatra theme...and the Cleo marks were winning spins etc..so I thought, with my daughter's name being Cleo, it could be lucky..so put a $20 in there and hit Max bet, not thinking to look first realizinf too late that the Max bet was 45 x 25 cents, thus a whole $11.25 bet!!!....BUT I WON $255.00!!! HAHAHA so had to sign for that too lmao...we were just goofy by this time... SO with this I put more in the bra and we had fun trying out different games we normally wouldn't have tryed...we had so much fun and knowing we had money ahead was awesome.

Finally around 11:40pm I sat down to a last machine, put in the last $20 I wanted to spend. After this one we were going to head home. Well, this machine kept giving me tokens...and I just knew my luck was still with me. I won that $20 back so many times but still I knew and said to Chris...I bet u that at midnight, this machine will give me it's max payout...I feel it in my bones. He laughed and said, with tonight, I don't doubt it one bit. .......

WELL, I KID U NOT! AT THE STRIKE OF MIDNIGHT...I WON $625.00!!!!!!!!!

OMG...I have never won anything like that before. Let alone the first win, then second...OMG!! We were agog.. mouth gapping flabbergasted lmao. .....

So I blew $25 in another machine and had $900 bucks in 100 dollar bills in my bra for the way home. HOW COOL IS THAT?! We had the goofiest looks on our face all the way home and broke out in spontanious laughter every few miles lol.

I have already informed Chris that we are going back NEXT year same date lol.

Today I woke to fresh roses and fresh croissants made by Chris. YUMMM. I also got some decadent chocolates from my daughter and a beautiful greecian antique looking pedistal bowl for displaying fruit or whatever I want in it. I have been spoiled to say the least.

We plan to stay in pj's and watch the OSCARS tonight ... I could not ask for a better birthday! I have had a wonderful weekend.

SUNDAYS COMING EVENT!!!!

YES FOLKS, this Sunday is the BIG Day. March 5th!! It happens once a year and it's a big deal. I always look forward to this event with great anticipation. Some years more then others, just depends how I feel. I always try to treat myself on this day and I DEFINATELY get dressed up and put my face on! The official Time is around 8pm I believe. YES you guessed it!! IT'S MY BIRTHDAY!!!.....

You seriously didn't think I was talking about the OSCARS were you?!?

I was the first of 3 children from my parents, to come into this world, on March 5th, 1963, around 8pm, 43 years ago.

This will be a great year for me. It's an odd numbered year, I prefer those, don't ask me why, I just do. Yes I'm odd, hense the odd year fetish.

I will also be getting married to the love of my life. Doesn't get much better then that.

We haven't planned anything special for my bday. Actually we are going out Saturday as per our usual day to have the sitter come over. Same ole, grocery shopping and errands but we will get a nice meal somewhere with an AWESOME desert for ME ME ME lol. I don't need candles..just give me cake!!.......Just to make the day different, we may take in a movie ...whooo hooo, actually staying out till LATER.. stop the presses!!! lol..

It works out perfectly this year...I can celebrate on saturday so sunday is more relaxed .hehe, I am NOT making supper AND I can watch the OSCARS lol. SHHH don't tell anyone. (Hey I love to diss the big lips and fashion faux pas, like everyone else).
