Girlfriends Day....or....BOOBS AWAY!!

Yesterday was a great day. My girlfriend and I had a nail appointment. We go together once a month. Yesterday was a bit different though. Our birthdays are exactly a week apart so we decided to start the day off early by some shopping, lunch then nails.

We went to one of our favourite stores. I needed a new bra so chose my favourite model and went to try a few on. OMG I went down in size and cup!!! Now this is not because of a different bra , this is the same model bra I have worn for yrs, my true comfort bra. I have been wearing DDD for years and now I fit a DD....omg I am thrilled. I got 2 new bras. I have not weighed myself in over a month. Last time I did I had lost 20 lbs so now I have no idea how much in all as of date. It is mostly evident in my pants and lets face it when u have breastesses the size of mine its hardly noticable when u lose some up top. I could only tell by the fit of my existant bras that things had changed. I was so happy I tryed on a few new tops. I went down 2 sizes!!!Now lets keep in mind I am still a big girl but hey...there's just a bit less now. I am very pleased. This is also EXACTLY what I needed to start off a new year after my recent bday and the perfect beginning to a great day with my girlfriend.

Psst..I bought all 3 tops as well as the 2 new bras btw.

We then went to lunch in the mall. We had brought gifts to exchange. I got 2 different woolen shawls for Lise. She was nuts about one of mine months ago so I tryed to find her something similar to mine. She is off on a 2 week Hawaiian cruise next month so these are perfect for evening cover up on the ship. She LOVED both of them.

She gave me a set of 4 beautifully hand painted wine glasses. Spring/summer theme of flowers and butterflys. I love them. ........We then shared a pizza and caught up on stuff. In short order it was time to get to the place we get out nails done.

We always have fun at the nail place. We all share jokes and talk about whats new etc. Both Lise and I usually always get a french manicure but every once in awhile she or I will add a little something different on one finger (ring) on each hand like a sparkle or tiny flower sticker or air brush. Some like elaborate designs on their nails and thats fine, I personally like things very simple. Classic. I will add a tiny accent once in a blue moon and so both Lise and I did because of the day. Danielle was so sweet because when it came time to pay, she didn't charge us for our little extras because she said it was her little present to both of us for our bday. Aweeeee...what a great ending to a terrific day.

Lots of laughs, great lunch, awesome present, pretty nails and LESS BOOBAGE!!!!!

IS IT SPRING YET????

Good lord this winter seems to be lasting forever! Yes, I haven't forgotten I live in CANADA, land of the great white *?%&$#@@#*! north. But damn I swear some yrs are longer then others. That also depends on where u are as well. My family out west in alberta are having record breaking highs. Mom is itching to start her garden. They have had warm weather for weeks now. Where as here the opposite is true. SNOW, SNOW, and more SNOW. Although my bday was last saturday, we were supposed to go out to dinner with friends lastnight Monday. My friend Lise has a bday one week after mine so we try to go out to a nice resturant we normally wouldn't go to , with our partners. Makes for a nice evening. We had to cancel last night because of blizzard conditions. Oh well...dems de breaks.

I can remember some years going out for my bday with spring clothes on and tulips starting to sprout out of the ground. Then other years like this one where its hard to invision there ever being enough warmth to melt the 4 feet of snow in some places.

Don't get me wrong. I would not dream of living in a place that had no seasons. There is something to be said about all 4 seasons. Changing of clothes to suit each season. New foot wear hehe. Each new sensation with every season beginning. I particularly love the first time we can actually go out without our boots on. The odd feeling like wow , my ankles are feeling air on them whether wearing pants or not. How light our feet feel outside in shoes for the first time. Then when we put our winter coats away and use a lightweight jacket....OH THE FREEDOM!...SCHOOL IS ALMOST OVER! YAY!

What kind of flowers should we plant this year? What colours? How many veggies should we do in the garden? Dilligently put them all in perfect rows that will soon not matter. Untill we are sweltering in the summer heat wishing for airconditioning. Ahhh the relief of fall, cool breezes and SCHOOL! YES! BACK TO SCHOOL. Fall jackets and Halloween decorations. Huge piles of leaves stuffed into orange bags with pumpkin faces on them.

Christmas decorations put up before to much snow flys. That first real snow fall when all looks so perfectly clean. Every single branch of the trees painstakingly dusted white. How the lights look magical against the glistening white snow. Fun shopping for the perfect gifts. Baking smells of snowflake cookies. Footprints down the street after a fresh snow. Seeing kids make snow angels and snow forts.

DAMN I am getting cold again.....ENOUGH ALREADY....I WANT SPRING AGAIN!!!

My 42nd Year has ended today

I am 42 years old today. I just spent an hour opening funny e-mail cards from friends...one in particular who found the need to send me 6 herself lol. I love you too Shannon. Oh and lets not forget having the phone start to ring at the fricken crack of dawn!...OK, it wasn't that early but I am not and never will be a morning person so at 42 do not expect it to get better.

I am not doing anything special today as Chris has to work but we did get out yesterday. Got bills payed at the bank. Went to Cosco to stock up on stuff then did a tour of a new Sears decor store. Then went to a new resturant called Kelsey's. It was pretty good and the service was excellent but best of all, they were able to feed Cléo my daughter. She is the type who picks at her food and finding something she likes takes an act of congress.

We topped off the shopping with a stop at the fabric store to pic out a piece of fabric and clear plastic to recover Luc's chair. You know the one...He has peed on more then once. I had to change it and make sure that it didn't happen again so with plastic tacked on after new covering I will be able to just wipe it off with disinfectant. So bring it on Mr Pissy pants!!!I'm ready for you now!!

So as it is, it was a usefull day. Good tired from walking around. Nice to be out of the house. But mostly it was the HUGE ASS DESERT I had at the resturant. OMG I bet I could have fed a small village with it but hey it was my bday desert so I ATE THE WHOLE THING....it almost killed me but I was determined. ....Yes I know I am diabetic...I had meds..give me a break...I have lost over 20lbs so far..I had room for this chocolate fantasy cake smothered in chocolate sauce and icecream topped with whipped cream and anyone dared come near it with a spoon risked losing their life.

The very bestest thing about my bday is the gorgeous writing desk Chris got me. I have had it for about a week already but wanted to wait for my bday to show it to you. I finally have a place to store all my caligraphy pens and inks. I love stationary. I am a paper nut so when I have some I can find a compartment for it now.

I have been very spoiled this yr, with friends sending birthday wishes, family sending money to treat myself with, calls from both and having a great day out and about yesterday. It's a good thing that today I am home so these aging bones can assimilate the new creeks and cracking of a new year to come lol.. HUGS TO ALL

Here is the desk, closed, looking like a table. Posted by Hello

This is the desk when open...it has all sorts of little drawers and compartments. Posted by Hello

Not Me Yet....(I hope)

I got this in an e-mail today and given it's timing I thought it was perfect to post to my blog. This saturday march 5th I will be 42 yrs old. I hope I personally haven't reached all these statements YET!........

AGING WITH A SMILE.......

Any woman can have the body of a 21-year-old... as long as she buys him a few drinks first.

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be. Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Know how to prevent sagging? Just eat 'til the wrinkles fill out.

I've still got it, but nobody wants to see it.

I'm getting into swing dancing. Not on purpose. Some parts of my body are just prone to swinging.

It's scary when you start making the same noises as your coffeemaker.

I think I've reached my sexpiration date.

People our age can still enjoy an active passionate sex life... provided we get that cable or dish thing.

The good news is, that even as we get older, guys still look at women's boobs. The bad news is, they have to squat down first.

These days, about half the stuff in my shopping cart says, "For fast relief."

I've tried to find a suitable exercise video for women my age, but they haven't made one called, "Buns of Putty".

Don't think of it as getting hot flashes. Think of it as your inner
child playing with matches.

Don't let aging get you down. It's too hard to get back up.

Remember: you don't stop laughing because you grow old, you grow old because you stop laughing.

I hope this brings a smile to your day!
