OH THE POSSIBILITIES!!!

To bad I forgot to take a quick pic before the wallpaper came off and the light fixtures...but u get a basic idea of how this bathroom is layed out. Below u will see a piece of the wallpaper that was behind the toilet bowl...and see why I wanted to get rid of it in the first place lol.....

Chris has worked so hard to get it all gutted. As you will see in the following photos....the yucky drywall u will see next to the tub...was where we knew there was mold and water damage due to a very bad plumbing job done many yrs ago...and just a bad bathroom design. The damage just kept getting worse the deeper we looked. So rather then redo all the tile work and plumbing around a tub we never liked in a dark corner of this bathroom...we just decided to get rid of it..put a corner shower unit in there ...giving the bathroom more room and light. The floor tile that we had replaced a few yrs ago...had already started to crack, and grout was cracking...we now know because the floor wasn't level...another reason to do it right this time...it will be a good investment to the house also.

I have made all my choices in materials...the anticipation is so fun. I can't wait to see it all finished. We are very fortunate that we have my dear friend Marc...coming to help Chris with stuff he knows little about. Chris as u can see isn't afraid of hard work..but being a scientist...he has never really had to deal with construction stuff like plumbing and tiling. Marc is a pro..and is willing to give up alot of his free time to come give us a hand with all the important stuff. We can deal with the cosmetics no problem.

So just as a precurser to perfection...I have loaded these BEFORE pics...so u can all be as anxious as I am to see the finished product lol!

Oh and donations for pain killers will be accepted..as u can see...my hero is a bit sore these days .....

Ha I'm glad to see I'm not the only one fixing up my house. Mine is still taking forever but we do it as we get money. It's so nice when you get something done. I think mine will end up being an addiction. LOL. Makes me want to do more when I get something done and see how nice it looks. Glad you got someone to help out. We always have to do everything ourselves. Looking good there Hun. Cheers to you and Chris !!

That surely is a work in progress. I would say you have passed the point of no return. BTW can i have Mark when you've finished with him?
You have much to look forward to.

Come do one of my bathrooms when you get done there, okay?

I so admire your courage in getting this done. I wouldn't even know where to begin. My ability to work in our bathroom extends to the little chain that connects the toilet handle to the rest of the toilet mechanism inside the tank.

Oh, and sometimes I can tighten the faucet or replace a fixture.

Other than that, I'm calling someone. I wish I had the guts to go further.

All the best from Michele's today. Happy long weekend!

Here I am again - this time Michele sent me but actually Carmi jumped ahead of me so now I shall go and visit him. Hope the work is going well. It will be great when it's finished.

It *is* going to be a mess for a while isn't it! I can see that!

Michele sent me to say hello, and wish you a good weekend,
N.

Reminds me of all the work we need to get started on in our house. I Like your finished job.I don't know why I don't take pics of the before either. Looks like you have the same color blue in your bathroom as I do. I need to finish that room but since I have the dog thats her room until we can build a kennel....

Hugs
