ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!? Is the phrase Chris uses when ever he is surprised, astonished or oddly enough, at a lose for words.
This photo is his reaction to my wedding gift to him. Obviously I could not write about it before the wedding..Chris my most avid blog fan lol.
Those who are close to me knew what I got him and they all wanted to see his reaction. So instead of giving it to him privately, I gave it to him at the reception.
You are dying with curiosity now aren't you? hehe
Every since Chris was a boy, he dreamed of flying. I have posted in the past about how immersed he gets playing the flight simulator on the computer. He becomes a boy with a toy...a man in the clouds...a total goober swaying left and right to the rythm of the simulators joy stick. It's halarious to watch.
This dream of flying never got off the ground so to speak in his former life. It wasn't even a question of inquiry...all his needs and wants were not really an option.
Funnily enough...our small town has a private airport..so I called and talked to someone who runs a flying school. I bought him the FIRST lesson. Granted..I would have loved to put down aprox 8,000$ ahead of time to pay for what it would take to have a private flying liscence but well....I didn't have it on me lol. As it is, one lesson cost around $230.
The lesson is over 2 hours...lots of preliminaries but also flying with the instructor ofcourse, but he will be able to do manoeuvers, turns and dips etc and will also get to land and take off at the Mirabelle airport..which was formaly Montreals large international airport before they renovated and enlarged our other airport thus rendering Mirabelle obsolete. Landing on a major runway will be pretty cool and then taking off and flying back to our town.
Basically, his gift of the lesson was also a gift in saying...over time, even if it takes yrs, we can budget to make a dream of his come true. Needless to say ...he was speechless as u can see by the pic. He can't wait to book the time. It will probably be in July some time. I will be posting about his experience for sure.

That's a really nice thing to do for him, very nice sentiment behind it.
I think you are absolutely terrific.
I found your blog on BlogExplosion.
Happy B-Day to hubby and Many Happy Years of Marriage to you Both!
Take care,
Frances
It's too bad that no one was able to truly capture the giddy little dance he did after the shock wore off...
Chris I hope you have a wonderful time, and maybe post how it was... ;)
Sorry that I haven't commented in a while, and let me say first off, CONGRATULATIONS!! :D It has been such fun to peek into your experiences leading up to the wedding, and to see your photos of the Big Day. And you know what's funny -- this photo of your husband (!) getting his present was my favorite already, when you put them all up on Flickr, because you look so perfectly happy and the expression on his face is just so wonderful. It makes me sniffle like a total girlie girl when I think about it. ;) I look forward to hearing about his first flight!
I looked forward to seeing his reaction to the present the whole night. (I knew ahead of time what is was ;) so even I was giddy and it wasn't even my present!
It truly was a totally unexpected gift for him. He was adorable the whole night but yeah, the happy dance he did afterwards was well worth the secret.
*hugs*
What a beuatiful and thoughtful gift you gave him.
You made his dreams come true in so many ways!
Thanks to everyone who commented..and Rae is right, he did an adorable high step jig full of glee after the initial shock lol...
Nice.
congratulations to both of you.
That was a very nice surprise! Congrats and good luck!
What a fantastic dream come true for Chris.
I loved your point that it may take years to get there, but we should never forget our dreams and we really can make them come true.
